About the role
Working closely with the Director and Director of Photography, you will be responsible for operating camera equipment and helping deliver the visual style of the production throughout the shoot.
We are looking for someone with strong technical ability, a good visual eye and the confidence to work efficiently within a busy production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate camera equipment safely and professionally throughout filming
Work closely with the Director and Director of Photography to achieve the required shots
Follow shot lists, storyboards and creative direction
Compose and frame shots to a high professional standard
Carry out camera movements including handheld, tripod and other production setups as required
Assist with camera preparation and checks at the beginning of each shooting day
Monitor image quality and flag any technical issues promptly
Work effectively alongside the focus puller, camera assistants, lighting and grip departments
Help maintain continuity between takes and setups
Assist with camera equipment moves between locations
Ensure equipment is handled and stored safely
Work efficiently within the production schedule
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has professional experience operating cameras on film, television, commercial, factual or similar productions
Has a strong understanding of composition, framing and camera movement
Is confident working with professional digital cinema camera systems
Understands exposure, lenses, focal lengths, frame rates and camera settings
Can interpret creative direction and translate it effectively on screen
Works calmly and efficiently under production pressure
Communicates well with directors, DoPs and other departments
Is reliable, punctual and comfortable working long filming days
Takes a collaborative and professional approach on set
Desirable Experience
Experience with one or more of the following would be advantageous:
ARRI, RED, Sony or Canon cinema camera systems
Handheld camera operation
Gimbal or stabilised camera systems
Multi-camera productions
Location filming
Drama, factual, documentary or commercial production
Working with wireless monitoring and video transmission systems
Equipment

Require production-supplied equipment
Production equipment requirements will be confirmed with the successful applicant.
Location
Filming will take place in Stirling and the surrounding area.
Applicants should ideally be based within reasonable travelling distance of Stirling or be able to arrange their own travel to the filming location.

Rate
This is a paid freelance position.
Rate will be agreed according to experience, responsibilities and the final production requirements.
Any applicable travel or expenses arrangements will be confirmed before engagement.
